More About Coach Virak

I’ve done a lot of one-on-one soccer training with younger athletes, helping them improve their technical skills, movement, and confidence on the field. I played Division 1 soccer at Temple University, so I understand the level of commitment and performance it takes to compete at a high level. I’m also currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at Columbia University, which gives me a strong background in biomechanics, injury prevention, and athletic performance. Additionally, clinical experience as a graduate student has given me tools needed for 1-on-1 collaboration. Most of the athletes I’ve worked with have been kids and teens, but I’m comfortable working with any age group. I don’t have formal coaching certifications, but between my playing experience and PT training, I bring a lot of practical knowledge to the field.

During high school, I played for PA Classics Academy as part of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA), which has since been re-branded as MLS Next. After going through the recruiting process, I chose to stay close to home and continue my soccer and academic career at Temple University. Competing at the NCAA D1 level helped me grow immensely as a person and an athlete, as I competed at a high-level and earned All-Academic Honors in my first and only season on the team. Due to injuries, I decided to give up soccer and focus on school. I still love soccer with all my heart, and would love to help others get into a better position to reach their goals on and off the field!

During a typical session, I prefer to conduct a very short dynamic warm-up, mixed with some mobility for injury prevention. Additionally, I have found speed and agility training to be very effective, which I plan to incorporate. For the bulk of the session, I aim to focus on technical skills that will translate best on the field. Movements like passing, dribbling, weak-foot training, and shooting will also be focused on. However, the session is dependent on what position you (or your child) plays, and what needs to be improved on. I love to collaborate, and am very open to suggestions in terms of what type of learning style you respond best to, and what you would like to work on. Sessions are meant to be fun, yet effective.

Client Reviews

...while he had the technical ability to compete with anyone on the field, what really set him apart was his relentless drive. A lot of players rely on skill alone—but V showed me how far you can go when you combine that skill with an unmatched work ethic. He was constantly pushing himself and everyone around him to get better. That kind of mindset is rare, and it’s exactly what makes him not just a great teammate, but an incredible coach and mentor for any young athlete who wants to develop their skills.
