More About Coach Val

Former ABL and WNBA player and Stanford All-American. I have played on USA National Teams and was named, in 2006 by ESPN Magazine, a Top 25 Women's Basketball Player in the history of the NCAA. At Stanford, I was a part of 2 NCAA championship teams and wend to 3 Final Fours.

Even though I am a mom of two boys, I only train girls and women ages 8 and up. I specialize in post-play. But, I teach general youth basketball skills and beginning to pro- level post-play.

I have been teaching the game at all levels since 1989. My clients have gone on to play college basketball or gone on to become successful in their respective fields of interest. I prefer to look at the whole student athlete as a total package and long-term personal development.

I am currently on the National Advisory Board for Positive Coaching Alliance.

Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) (1999-2002);
American Basketball League (ABL) (1996-1998);
Professional Teams in Italy, Israel, and Brazil (1994-1996)

Attended practices, performed in games, led team motivation, delivered speaking engagements, and conducted community outreach to increase team brands and recognition.

 Achievements include selection for the Pan American Games, the ABL’s inaugural All-Star Game, and as an alternate on the US National Team; Earned endorsement contracts with Nike and Converse.
 Led Detroit Shock in rebounding and helped team reach its first playoff berth.

Client Reviews

I have known Val since I was a young student in the game of bastketball. I have attended many of her camps, as well as been coached by Val and she is truly amazing. She is a subject matter expert in many fields, but especially on coaching, athletic performance and enhancing athletic skills. She also is a pleasure to work with as she is very professional, focused and goal driven. I credit the basketball player that I became through the expertise that I received from Va
I am honored to endorse and recommend Val! She is an outstanding young lady, who is extremely reliable, dedicated and always willing to share her talents with others. In addition to helping me, Val has worked with my daughter as she prepared to for high school and college basketball. We will always be grateful to Val for her support and I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
