More About Coach Valorie

I have been coaching youth to professional athletes for over a decade. I have coached at Division I, II, and III universities and coached a professional team in Iceland. Additionally, I am an American College of Sport Medicine certified personal trainer. Within the last year, I have coached female collegiate athletes as well as players aged 4-11. I enjoy developing players of all ages and all levels!

I played at the University of South Florida from 2008-2011 and captained the team beginning my freshman year. During my time there, we broke the school record and made it into the top 25 national rankings for the first time in school history.
After graduating, I played professionally for UMF Selfoss in Iceland. I also played professionally for a club in Switzerland. The following two years I played for the Charlotte Lady Eagles of the W League.
In 2016, I head coached UMF Selfoss and played for HK/Vikingur in Iceland.
In 2017, I returned to the States and joined the coaching staff at the University of South Florida. That season we won the first conference championship in program history.
In 2018, I joined Emory University as the assistant women's soccer coach. In my first season, we made it to the national tournament for the first time in four years. Also, the coaching staff earned Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for the first time in program history my second season.
Most recently, I was the assistant coach at Trevecca University. I have also coached a high school team, where I was awarded Coach of the Year, and I have worked with a variety of youth teams, levels, and ages.

Every session begins with an emphasis on footwork and agility. This is done with and without the ball. Players can expect instruction and repetition in exercises that build balance, acceleration and deceleration, coordination, first touch, ball control, and confidence in executing technical ability. The next portion includes drills that integrate technical skills and decision making. This is designed to integrate players’ right and left brain; or to help connect the physical and feeling side of the brain to the thinking and comprehending side of the brain. Doing so reflects the demands of the game, but allows players to practice it within a controlled environment. These drills are specifically designed according to each player’s individual level and personal goals. The final portion of sessions are reserved for position specific training. These build on the technical and tactical part of the session, and keep the player focused on the desired area of improvement.

Great coach!

Coach Valorie is coaching a small group of elementary-aged children who are new to soccer, teaching them some fundamentals of the game. They are having a total blast! She is so great with the kids. I would recommend Coach Valorie highly to anyone especially to work with kids.

Coach Valorie was great with my nine-year-old son. She took time to get to know him and his skill set, and she was flexible in structuring the session to be both fun and well-suited for his abilities. My son is excited about doing future sessions with her!

First session- so far, so good.

Coach Valorie is a great coach. I see improvement with my daughter during each practice.

Coach Valorie is an exceptionally gifted coach and we cannot be more thankful to have found her. We would recommend her to anyone looking to become a more thoughtful, skilled and conditioned player from a compassionate and accomplished advocate of the game. She is the best.

Coach Valorie is amazing, very fun and great with kids- My son was shy and apprehensive but at the end he loved the session and was training at home for the rest of the week. would highly recommend Coach Valorie.

Valorie is a great coach, she was patient and did a wonderful just teaching my 4 year old. Would definitely recommend!

Very supportive and encouraging. She worked one-on-one with my son and quickly identified areas that could help him improve his form. She made training fun!

Excellent first session! Looking forward to more.

Coach Valorie has the depth of experience to recognize a player’s skill level and give kids the tools to develop to their full potential. My 11 year old daughter enjoyed having her as a coach both in a group and in a private setting.
