More About Coach Tyreek
I specialize in speed and agility training for football skill players and sprinters, focusing on mechanics, acceleration, change of direction, and footwork. I’ve coached athletes at the youth and high school level, and many of my clients have seen major improvements in their 40-yard dash, lateral quickness, and reaction speed. As an Olympic-level sprinter turned bobsledder, I bring high-performance movement standards into every drill — including ladder work, cone progressions, resisted sprinting, and positional footwork. I primarily train athletes ages 12–19, and sessions are built to match each athlete’s position, sport, and movement goals.
I competed at the collegiate level as a sprinter in the 100m and 200m before earning a spot on Jamaica’s Olympic bobsled team, where speed and explosiveness are everything. My sprint background gave me a foundation in acceleration mechanics, max velocity, and change-of-direction ability. In both track and football, I developed a deep understanding of movement efficiency, quickness, and footwork — which translated directly into my success in bobsled. Now, I apply those same principles to help athletes become faster, more agile, and position-ready.
Speed and agility sessions with me are high-energy, focused, and intentional. We begin with sprint mechanics drills and a dynamic warm-up, then move into acceleration-focused work like wall drives, band-resisted starts, and short sprints. From there, we hit lateral and multidirectional movement drills using cones, ladders, or hurdles — including break steps, reaction cuts, and shuffle-to-sprint transitions. Every drill is position-specific and grounded in real movement patterns athletes need for football or track. We finish each session with timed reps or challenge drills to reinforce technique under pressure.
