More About Coach Tyler

• Founded Triple Threat Hoops upon graduating high school, and have steadily built up the program from one 5th Grade team to over 150 active players and over 50 full-time training clients.

• Program has produced multiple Division I players including Mark Armstrong (Villanova) and Toby Okani (UIC) and a number of others who have made their way to the D1 level.

• Other Triple Threat alumni include Elliot Cadeau (#10 Junior by ESPN), Naas Cunningham (#1 Junior by ESPN), Tahaad Pettiford (#32 Junior by ESPN), Aaron Bradshaw (#20 Senior by ESPN)

•From 2015-2019 was Head of Player Development for SportsU. In that role, I worked with many players who have gone on to play high-level college and professional basketball.

• Mendham High School, Class of 2014

• Played a National AAU Schedule

• Trained under pro skills trainer Marcus Whitaker

• Many High School AAU Teammates now playing pro or coaching in NCAA

The unique experiences I have had in my career have taught me how to work with all levels of talent and get the most out of those players. I have trained all types of skill levels, from Middle School Rec level to High School All-Americans.

I take a patient, step by step approach to improving my players’ game. The biggest mistake many trainers make is trying to improve everything at once, which results in their clients becoming decent at many things, but not great at anything. I am a firm believer in each of my players having an identity. If you want to be an impact player, even at the local high school level, you must be great at at least one thing. Then, once one or two skills are sharpened, the players’ game can be expanded.

I have a high intensity level and attention to detail from training some of the top high school talent in the country, but also have the patience to work with beginner level talent, and take pride in the process of developing those players into strong high school or even college players over years of training.

Basketball has been, is and will always be my life. I take great pride in the loyalty and dedication I have to every family in my program. I look forward to the opportunity to work with new players and develop relationships with the kids and their families. Triple Threat Hoops is truly a family, and I would love for you to be a part of it!

Client Reviews

I have played for and trained with Coach Tyler since I was in 5th Grade. He was an instrumental part of my development into the player I am today. I truly could not have accomplished everything I have without him, and will continue putting in hours with him as long as I am playing basketball.
