More About Coach Troy

I am a professional baskeball teacher who has trained NBA, International, High school and elementary players. I work with players from ages 5 and up.

I am a 10 year NBA veteran who has played at every level. I have had the honor of playing alongside and against some of the greatest players to play the game of basketball. I finished in the top 3 for NBA sixth man of the year award in 2002. I was second in the entire NBA for free throw percentage in 2002. In 2003 i led the Minnesota Timberwolves to the playoffs while averaging 24 points per contest against the two time defending champs the Los Angeles Lakers while earning the nick name "The Laker Killer".

In a typical session a client can expect to learn the game of basketball from not only a physical aspect but cerebral as well. It is very important to me that the client understands the reason for every lesson taught. My sessions are tailored made depending on the needs of the client. Sessions are very strategic as i like to see improvement as we go. To me quality is more important than quantity. I train with one purpose in mind and that is to get my client BETTER!

My session with Coach Troy was great! He pointed out tips for my shot that I hadn't considered. He was very patient. I felt like I had a better foundation after the first session. I'm immediately booking more. I'm looking forward to learning more from him.

Coach Troy has been great to work with. He has small adjustments that pay big dividends. Something as simple as controlling your breathing to always keeping sight of the basket. Time well spent!

I picked Coach Troy for his playing and coaching experience. After just three private lessons with Coach Troy I have already seen a marked improvement in my daughter's shooting form and accuracy. He provides a positive and focused experience for her that has helped keep her encouraged too keep improving. Coach Troy has been terrific during our first couple of sessions. He is great at teaching the technical details (shot fake over head, coming off screen turning into shot, holding shooting follow-through, etc.). These are the details that make a big difference in game situations. He also puts together a tough, intensive workout that Ben thinks is great and challenging.

We’ve only had one lesson with Troy, but we have already booked more. We were very pleased with Troy’s knowledge and skill of the game, and how he implements it into his training. We can’t wait to see the progress our son makes from training with Troy; we can already tell it’s going to be very beneficial for high school next year.
