Believes in teaching the fundamentals of baseball from a mechanical, situational and mental standpoint. To make training as gamelike as possible in order to acheive the best possible results. Performs specified drills through instruction and believes that "perfect practice, makes perfect"

Owner of Katy Sports and Fitness. In high school I was an All District Short Stop and Defensive Player of the Year in 2005, the year I graduated. I played baseball at the University of Houston-Victoria in their inaugural season and hit the first home run in the history of the program. I transferred to a very successful Division II baseball program at Delta State University were I played Short Stop and Third Base. During my tenure as a coach, I have 13 tournament championships, 2 runner ups, 3 third place finishes and 1 World Series victory at the Disney Salute to Baseball World Series. Also, 90% of our eligible players have made their respective high school baseball teams.

I would first have the player go through the motion a few times to really get a glimpse of what he is doing incorrectly as well as what he is doing right. Give him constructive criticism on what he is doing wrong followed up with positive compliments with what he is doing well. Alot of times, there is going to be multiple things wrong with a players mechanics. I will make them aware of these imperfections but tell them only to really focus on 1 maybe two things at a time(you cant fix multiple things at one time, it is a process) and let them know that they will not fix them, "just like that" and that it takes "correct" repetition and being coachable. I like to incorporate drills during a lesson to fixate on certain habits that the student may have. I do like to video and use the Coaches Eye App on my phone in order for the player to visually see and go over there swings, deliveries, fielding in slow motion to point out certain specifics. I like to make the lesson as "gamelike" as possible because baseball isn't just about catching, throwing and hitting. It takes situational, mental, and mechanical understanding to get the maximum potential out of the player.

Client Reviews

Thanks Mr. Trey. Cam was really happy about session and said he saw a difference at next day’s practice. Would totally recommend Trey for his style and attention to details. We will be setting up many more sessions.

Coach Trey is a great coach! My son was a bit nervous at first but coach trey made him laugh a few times and from there my son was very respective. My son came home and started working on a drill coach told him he can do at home. Coach Trey is very patient and works well with my son. We will definitely continue to use coach Trey during the season and the off season.

Coach Trey was very patient and thorough with my 8 year old son. He took his time to teach him some basic batting techniques that really help my son understand batting. You can see that coach Trey really has a passion for the sport and enjoys teaching kids. Worth every penny!

My sixteen year old son enjoys working with Coach Trey. Trey has the ability to quickly identify what needs to be adjusted and instructs in a way that is easily understood.

Coach Trey was a great coach for my 9 year old. His training and techniques were top notch and the way he used analogies to get his points across were on point and easy to understand. I highly recommend Coach Trey to anyone!

This is by far the best money I have ever spent on a hitting lesson. I had no idea so much information about technique could be covered in one hour. Coach Trey was patient, yet direct and encouraging with my 12 year old son and spoke to him in a way that he could easily understand. There was a very natural progression with the lesson where my son would show Coach Trey "how he did things", and then Coach Trey pointed out the positive things he saw while focusing on the things he wanted to make sure my son got better at before he moved on to anything else by asking my son questions, showing him how a certain technique would look, and then letting my son practice it. We are both extremely pleased knowing he is rebuilding a firm foundation with his hitting. My son is very excited about his next lesson this week, and he hasn't been excited about a hitting lesson in a very long time. Thank you Coach Trey.

My 10-year old son enjoys playing baseball, but was not very good at it partially because he started this sport late compared to other kids in his teams. This made him feel a little out of place in his team. Luckily we found Coach Trey. Coach Tray was very instructive and patient at coaching him on fielding, batting, pitching and etc. Since he started to see Coach Trey, he has made tremendous improvement and started to contribute to his team much more than before. One morning, my son told me he started to feel proud of himself because of his improvement and his contribution to his team. I was so happy to hear that. As a parent, nothing is more important to see my son is happier and starts to truly enjoy the sport he loves. Thank you, Coach Trey.

Coach Trey was great! After one session, my son seemed to be a whole new athlete when it came to pitching. In addition, it seemed to increase his confidence which helped him be a better hitter. We will definitely continue going to Coach Trey!

My son is 10 and has just started playing. As a way to get him caught up to the rest of the kids I decided to get him some private lessons. My son really didn't know much about baseball. Trey started with the mechanics of hitting and after our first 2 lessons the difference was amazing! He teaches things the way kids can understand and really take it all in. He breaks it down to a science I have never seen before and I have played baseball my entire life. If I would have had someone like him to teach me as a kid I would have been a lot better. We are going to continue to use Trey for as long as he plays baseball.

Coach Trey does an excellent job of being patient while focusing on the intricate details of hitting, throwing, and fielding

My ten-year-old son, Michael, had his first lesson with Coach Trey. He played baseball at a local organization before he took a lesson with a professional coach. After the lesson, he told me that he was feeling a completely brand new start on the game. Coach Trey focused on details, broke down the complicated parts into simple pieces, engaged him all the time, and summarized what he has done well and what he needs to improve at the end. From the whole instruction, coach Trey made him so concentrated or focused on the drill by asking him "how" or "why"questions and encouraging him to see the beauty of the sport. Now he's having more confidence on it and looking forward to have his next practice with coach Trey. I strongly recommend Coach Trey as an excellent coach!!! Thank you so much, coach Trey.

My 9 year old son has seen Coach Trey a few times and we can already see the difference. He noticed things right away that he needed to fix and broke it down for him to easily understand and why he needs to be doing it. I really like how he takes the time to go over everything he worked on with the student after the lesson for them to keep it up at home. I would strongly recommend Coach Trey if you are looking for a good baseball trainer.

Top notch coaching!!! My 11 year old has been getting lessons with Trey for over a year now, and his confidence, swing, and fielding have improved dramatically. Trey is great at breaking down the fundamentals. His education background gives him a unique advantage in working with kids in a manner they can really understand. He takes the time to make sure the player isn't just going through the motions, but understands the game and situations.

Trey is fantastic! He gives 110% to my kids! He is always focused on making them better...both on and off the field. His knowledge of baseball fundamentals is unsurpassed. His drills are effective and he breaks everything down in a way that kids of all ages can understand.

Coach Trey has worked with both my 8 and 10 year old for the past 5 months. He has been instrumental in my 8 year old learning to attack the ball at the plate in his first season of kid pitch. My 10 year old can't wait to practice with Trey. He is encouraging and demonstrates a vast amount of knowledge in baseball. Trey is a great role model for my boys as he pushes them to strive for excellence and at the same time not pushing them beyond their capabilities.
Trey Capers is an incredible coach who has done an amazing job with my kids. I have 3 boys, ages 14, 13, and 10. Trey provides lessons for all of them and is able to gear his lessons according to each of their ages and capabilities. He keeps them focused and disciplined during his lessons but also makes sure they're having fun. Trey is incredibly knowledgeable of everything baseball and I have seen a huge improvement in all of my boys' skills. Trey continues to encourage their love of the game at every lesson! The confidence levels of my boys have also improved which is amazing to watch both on and off the baseball fields! Thanks Coach Trey for all you have done for my boys!
My 15 year old son has worked with Coach Trey for the past two years as his head coach and also private instructor for fielding and hitting. Coach Trey has a keen eye and instructs in a very positive and analytical way, communicating in a manner that is easy to understand to make the necessary changes for improvement. Trey teaches the mechanics and fundamentals as well as to love the sport. I highly recommend Coach Trey!
