More About Coach Tre

I have about eight years of experience training athletes. I’m also two years in as a full time Trainer. I have a handful of NBA/ G League clients that I work with in the off-season. I also have dozens of Overseas/ Division 1 athletes I work with. Some of those athletes are at local colleges, including University of Houston, Rice, Sam Houston State, Lamar, and Texas Southern. Over the years i’ve been able to develop business relationships with a handful of basketball agencies, AAU organizations, and middle/high schools throughout the Houston area. I’ve been trusted to help take their players game to the next level. Although I work with many high level clients, I’m able to train athletes of all levels, including beginners, intermediate, and advanced. I’m also able to train young clients starting at the age of 4 on up.

I was awarded Junior College All American during my Sophomore year in College at Lamar State College Port Arthur. I then signed to Indiana State University (Division 1) where I competed throughout my junior season. Finished my Senior season at Angelo State University where I was awarded All Region, First Team All Conference as well as Newcomer of The Year. I went on to play three seasons Professionally in three 1st Divisions in Europe. Those Countries included Finland, England, and Georgia. During my stent in England, I was awarded two All Star 5 selections which are given to only 5 players in the entire league each week who exhibits the best performances throughout both of their league games. During my stent in Tbilisi Georgia, I was awarded a spot on the All Star roster which included the top 10 American players in the League during the first half of the season.

During my sessions I typically start off with some sort of stationary ball handling drills. For example, fingertip dribbles of different variations, pound dribbles of different variations and high dribbles with control of different variations. It’s important to warm up the hand/eye coordination for any position on the floor and to get a good feel for the basketball. This helps the athlete with their rhythm and confidence early on in the workout. I then include some catch and shoot midrange shooting off the move. This could be shooting off of the curl cut to the elbow, shooting off of a fade cut to the wing or corner, or catching and shooting in transition. I then combine a combination of handle work into the dribble pull up. I typically always finish with contact finishes and stationary catch and shoot 3 pointers.
