Tony Simmons

I am thrilled to say I have 25 years of experience coaching athletics. I have coached from the youth levels through the high school varsity level. I have also been fortunate enough to serve as a high school athletic director for 10 years in Genesee County. My experience as an athletic director has allowed me the opportunity to mentor and lead athletes and their coaches in a variety of sports. I am passionate about all sports and the lessons they can teach. I have most recently coached travel baseball at the 8U, 9U and 11U levels. I am comfortable coaching baseball to young student athletes at any level from youth through high school.

I was a three sport athlete at Lake Fenton High School. I played three years of varsity football, basketball and baseball. I was awarded 1st team all-conference in each of the three sports. Throughout my high school career I was also recognized as an all-county, all-district and all-regional player. I was also a two-time all-state high school baseball player. During my senior year, I accepted a full athletic scholarship to play baseball at Mott Community College where a started as catcher and outfielder my freshmen season. While in high school and college I played several years of baseball in the summer Connie Mack league and in the men's CBL West league. In the summer prior to my senior year of high school, I was invited to two separate free agent workouts with the Cincinnati Reds Organization.

Each session is meant to be personalized. Prior to the session, I will speak with the player and parent if needed, to get an understanding of what specific areas the player would like to improve. From this pre-session conversation specific drills related to the players needs will be planned, organized and implemented. These drills may include proper hand and feet mechanics along with overall body positioning whether we are working on hitting or fielding. While working on individual drills and skills we will also review overall game situations as they relate specifically to the players position.
