More About Coach Tony
I have coached basketball for the past 21 years at all levels for males and females. I began as a junior high school boys coach. I then became a high school boys coach. From there, I became a head men's college basketball coach at the junior college level for five seasons at the Butler County Community College. I then became the top women's assistant coach at Seton Hill University for five years. Finally, I have been the head women's basketball coach for five seasons at Point Park University. I have experience running my own basketball camps and working with individuals on skill development.
Athletically, I competed in high school basketball from 1988-1990. In 1990, I was a team captain and Co-MVP my senior year. In 1989, I won the Hustle Award as a junior. I was a two-time All-Conference player from 1990-92 at the Butler County Community College. In ten years of being a collegiate head coach, I have been awarded Conference Coach of the Year honors three times. Once as a men' coach and twice as a women's coach.
My sessions are very detailed-oriented. I begin sessions with ball-handling drills. From there, I focus on dribble-drive moves and attacking the basket. Next, I focus on spot shooting, proper shooting form, and increased speed of a player's shooting release. Finally, my last teaching component consists of shooting off the dribble and shooting on the move. I end all sessions with a quick review of everything I taught during that session for reinforcement and muscle memory.

Nikki Slatcoff/ assistant to the commissioner of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (Testimonial)
To Whom It May Concern: I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Mr. Tony Grenek as a candidate for your coaching position. While I was a graduate assistant at Seton Hill University, Tony was our associate head coach, and I consequently had the opportunity to know him on several fronts. Tony was in charge of player recruitment, off-season workouts, and game day and practice preparations for a program that went on to get a national tournament bid in just its second year of being NCAA Division II eligible. Tony Grenek is extremely hard working, efficient, and courteous. He is a brilliant basketball coach. Tony is well-organized, handles himself in a professional manner, and leads by example. I am confident in his abilities to lead a successful women’s basketball program. Tony is a results-oriented individual. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to observe Tony teach basketball fundamentals first-hand, and I have been thoroughly impressed with his teaching abilities. It was my pleasure to work with Tony as a graduate assistant coach, and I have witnessed his growth both personally and professionally. His commitment to success will allow him to continue to grow and contribute to his profession, and I look forward to following his career as a basketball coach. Mr. Grenek exemplifies the characteristics that are consistent with exceptional leaders. He possesses the ability to motivate and communicate. The qualities outlined in this letter allow me to recommend Tony Grenek without hesitation. If you should have any questions about Tony or my recommendation, please feel free to contact me. Respectfully, Nikki Slatcoff
Joel Rehm/ teacher and basketball coach in Raliegh, NC (Testimonial)
To whom it may concern, I am writing this recommendation letter for my former junior college basketball coach, Tony Grenek. I would highly recommend Coach Grenek for any teaching vacancy or basketball coaching vacancy at any level. Coach Grenek helped me resurrect my playing career. I was a solid high school basketball player who was labeled with a poor attitude. However, Coach Grenek gave me an opportunity to play in college, and it was the most fun I ever had playing basketball. Also, I experienced my most success in terms of wins and losses while playing for Coach Grenek. Coach Grenek is more than just a basketball coach. He is a caring mentor who is willing to do anything for his players on and off the court. In fact, Coach Grenek recommended me for a prestigious summer job working with disadvantaged youths, and I believe that job experience helped me earn a full-time teaching position. I know for a fact that Coach Grenek has helped several other players professionally other than just me. I highly recommend Coach Grenek for your employment opportunity. He is a fantastic teacher, coach, and tremendous individual. He is a great family man who genuinely cares for all of his players. If you would like to discuss in detail my recommendation feel free to contact me by telephone or by email. Sincerely, Joel Rehm
