We have done two sessions with Coach Tee for our 13 year old son, and will be doing more training with him going forward. He is very good about putting together skill appropriate drills and keeping our son at the right level of struggle and success, and he regularly shares the why behind what he is recommending. Coach Tee is also very good at spotting areas that are fundamentally unsound or need adjustments, and then providing specific guidance on how to correct them. Coach is very aware of the mental side of soccer, whether it is guidance on being mentally ready for a play, approaching mistakes, or generally being in the right mindset - he picked up on our son’s mental tendencies within the first 10 minutes of our first training session.

After the first session, we noted a change in our son’s level of play - his intensity increased as did his focus, and he played with increased confidence. We also specifically worked on improving his turns into space, and his movement was noticeably better, both in practice and during the game, and his turnovers reduced significantly as a result. We are working on lateral movement and shooting next, and I am excited to see how things change.

It is our experience that team-based coaching is very important for understanding of the game and putting skills into practice, but coaches cannot always take the time needed to fix or advance specific skills a player may need to work on. We reached out to Coach Tee to help us spot our blind spots. Criticism is hard to hear, and he delivers it in a Socratic way, with questions and answers and a positive attitude, without being patronizing to our son. There is an art to delivering information without causing defensiveness, and Coach is great at it.

If you are in the Mid-Cities area (or beyond) and are interested in building skills and shoring up fundamentals, I would highly recommend Coach Tee.
