More About Coach Tariq

I have experience coaching both club and high school soccer at competitive levels. On the club side, I’ve worked with U15, U16, and U17 ECNL teams in Georgia. At the high school level, I’ve assisted in coaching JV and Varsity soccer in GHSA 6A. Regardless of the level, the goal has remained the same: to help develop and prepare these young players’ games for the next level. While I primarily work with high school athletes now, I’ve trained players ages 6 to 18, from younger kids just beginning to older players refining their game. Finally, I am also earning my U.S. Soccer D License to enhance my coaching knowledge and ability to develop players effectively.

I’ve competed at high levels both internationally and in the U.S. throughout my playing career. Beyond the U.S., I’ve had the opportunity to train and compete with the Tanzanian Youth National Team and PSG’s U15/U16 youth teams in France. I was also invited to trial with Nottingham Forest, a Premier League club in England. These opportunities to play with first-division international teams provided a firsthand look at diverse play styles as well as the intensity and discipline required to succeed at the highest stages of the game.

After high school, I went on to commit and play Division 1 soccer at Davidson College. From 9th to 11th grade, I played in the USSDA, which was the top youth development league in the U.S. at the time and the equivalent of today’s MLS Next. In my senior year, I played my first and only high school soccer season, finishing as MVP, First Team All-Region, First Team All-County (Gwinnett County), and the Scholar-Athlete at the school, region, and county levels.

Clients can expect a well-rounded training session that develops their game's mental and physical sides. Having played every position on the pitch, I tailor my sessions to each athlete’s needs. My coaching goes beyond just drills—I focus on the mental and physical sides of the game, including film study, gym work, tactics, mindset, and even navigating the recruitment process. More than just improving as athletes, I want my clients to grow as individuals. I see my role not only as a coach but also as a mentor—helping young players develop discipline, confidence, and a strong work ethic that will serve them on and off the field.
