More About Coach Tamia

I started coaching AAU for 8 years while in school. I had a temporary job coaching and volunteer camp instructor for 3 years. After graduating I played overseas and was given the opportunity to coach a 14u team. We had a record of 13-5. I coach/train all ages.

Ranked 6th in nation in rebounding in Division 2. Ranked 8th in the nation for the most offensive rebounding. Most rebounds in the single season, most defensive rebound in a single season, and most rebounds in a single game.

During the session, I emphasize a combination of drills and techniques that enhance various aspects of basketball performance. This includes improving shooting accuracy, ball handling skills, footwork, agility, speed, and defensive strategies. I believe in a holistic approach, so I also incorporate strength and conditioning exercises to build the athlete's physical capabilities.

I begin with warm-up exercises to prepare the athlete's body for the session, focusing on mobility, flexibility, and injury prevention. Following the warm-up, I introduce specific drills and skills relevant to the athlete's goals. For example, if an athlete wants to improve their shooting accuracy, we may focus on proper shooting form, target practice, and shooting under pressure.

Throughout the session, I provide continuous feedback, correction, and encouragement to enhance the athlete's learning experience. I pay close attention to their technique, ensuring they execute each drill accurately and effectively.
