With over 10 years of coaching basketball, Steven has worked with players of all levels including elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and NBA basketball players. Steven worked on the University of Kentucky Men's basketball staff for Coach John Calipari from 2014-2016. Steven has developed an expertise in player development through his time at Kentucky and Impact Basketball where he assisted over 20 NBA basketball players. Prior to Kentucky and Impact, Steven was a high school coach at Dixie Heights, Shining Star Sports AAU Head Coach, and has created his own player development system called McFarland Complete Basketball Training that is running today at www.mcfarlandcompletebball.com

Steven is a former college basketball player at the NAIA powerhouse Georgetown College. Prior to Georgetown, Steven was a four year varsity player where he played all five positions for Boone County High School. Steven guided his team to the Regional Finals while being ranked as a top ten team in the state. Steven was introduced to basketball at the age of four through his father, Donnie McFarland, who has over 40 years of coaching.

Steven has the ability to teach all five positions. Steven will have a specific workout geared toward the player's age and position. An individual training session will give the player an opportunity to have a video analysis on their shooting form. Steven will follow with game like drills with guided instruction to teach the player how to become a complete basketball player. Upon request, Steven can improve player's speed and agility with a basketball focus.
