More About Coach Steve
I have played professional baseball (affiliated) for the past 10 years, and for the past 8 off-season's have given lessons individually and coached clinics with independent and travel ball teams. I have worked with age groups ranging from 6 to 18 in the Upstate New York area and in Gwinnett County, Georgia. I typically work with the ages 8-18.
I am a right handed relief pitcher and have played professional baseball for the past 10 years with 4 different organizations including the Los Angeles Angels, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Philadelphia Phillies. I went to College at the University at Buffalo (Division 1 College) and during my collegiate career had the following accomplishments; freshman year, broke schools single season saves record, and invited twice to play in the NECBL (New England Collegiate Baseball League). I was signed in 2008 in the Amateur draft by the Los Angeles Angels. I made my major leaguer debut in 2012 with the Los Angeles Angels. In 2013 I was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays and later that year won the AAA International league/ Governor's Cup Championship with the Durham Bulls. I was called up in September 2014 to the Tampa Bay Rays. In 2015 I made the opening day roster with the Rays and also had the following achievements that year; MLB record: 1st person to pitch multiple innings and strikeout every batter faced on opening day, franchise record: most appearances by rookie reliever (70), Led the American League in appearances for majority of the year, franchise record: most holds by rookie reliever (45), franchise record: most consecutive batters retired (32) completing the Tampa Bay Rays 1st ‘perfect game’. In 2017, signed as a Free Agent with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. 2018 signed as a Free Agent with the Philadelphia Phillies.
First time lessons will consist of a brief evaluation so I can see where a clients current skill set is at. This helps me recognize strengths as well as find opportunities for improvement. All lessons will start with proper stretching and warm up catch. I have many personal unique training methods that I have learned throughout my many years as a professional baseball player. Each lesson will end with proper shoulder or arm exercises so that clients learn how to properly care for their arm.

John Riffle (Testimonial)
My son started taking pitching lessons from Steve when he was 7 years old. To say that Steve has been incredible with him would be an understatement. Most coaches are only in love with the speed of the kids pitch. Steve teaches fundamentals first and foremost and speed will come with time, care and great pitching technique. My son has a good arm, throws lasers from short to first base. When he’s pitching his speed wasn’t near the velocity it is when throwing from the SS position. I approached Steve with my concern about this. What he said was very simple. At the time my son was 8 years old. He told me lets worry about technique first. What he said next still sticks with me to this day. Steve’s words to me were “Lets worry About 18 year old Cade and not 8 year old Cade.” He was exactly right. I was caught up in the sexiness of the fastball and Steve is focused on long term health and success of his players. Great words of advice. Steve will teach your son Major League pitching fundamentals and arm care. He will go over his daily routine that he uses to keep his arm in good health. My son absolutely adores Steve. Steve has helped instill from a young age the love that he has for baseball and has made my son an absolute baseball nut. For a dad that loves the game so much, seeing my son fall in love with the game like he has is a tremendous blessing. Thank you Steve for all the effort, time and love you have put into Cade. This dad is forever grateful to you!
