More About Coach Stephen
I have over 10 years of experience training athletes from elementary school through the collegiate level across multiple sports including soccer, football, track & field, basketball, baseball, softball, MMA, and flag football. I specialize in speed, strength, and performance development, working with both individuals and small groups to deliver personalized training at a competitive price point. My coaching focuses on measurable results such as 40-yard dash times, 10-yard fly, broad jump, vertical jump, 5-10-5 agility and overall athletic explosiveness. I am a certified personal trainer and certified speed trainer, and I’ve built my training approach around helping athletes maximize their athletic potential through proper sprint mechanics, plyometrics, rate of force development, resistance training, and consistent performance tracking.
I competed at the collegiate level as a cornerback, where I earned multiple All-Conference honors and was named Team Defensive MVP. I ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash, showcasing elite speed that I now teach and develop in my athletes. Prior to college, I was a standout multi-sport athlete in high school, earning All-CIF and First Team All-League honors multiple years in football as a defensive back. I also competed in varsity track & field and basketball, giving me a well-rounded athletic foundation that translates directly into how I train and develop athletes today.
A typical session starts with a dynamic warm-up focused on mobility, activation, and injury prevention. From there, we move into speed mechanics—covering proper sprint form, acceleration, and top-end speed drills. Next, we track performance while fresh (40-yard dash, vertical, broad jump, 10-yard dash). I follow that up with plyometric and medicine ball explosive power work. I incorporate resistance training such as sled work, bands, dumbbell and kettlebell strength training and bodyweight explosiveness to build power and strength. Sessions also include agility, change of direction, and sport-specific movements tailored to the athlete’s needs. Every session is structured, high-energy, and designed to improve measurable performance while building confidence and discipline.
