More About Coach Staci

I am the head girls basketball coach at Preuss School and have privately coached athletes for six years. I have worked with athletes at all levels, from beginners to collegiate athletes as well as all different ages beginning at age eight all the way through twenty. Always looking for hard working athletes no matter the skill level.

At the collegiate level, I played at San Diego Mesa College. I was first team all-conference, PCAC player of the week, and team captain. I averaged 14 points a game and am a true point guard. My season high game was against the number one team in our conference by scoring 32 points. After college, I played professionally in Munich, Germany for BC Hellenen. As the teams point guard, I led the conference in steals and assists.

Success in basketball begins with learning the fundamentals and that is true at every level. My sessions will include conditioning in every drill as well as a focus on fundamentals. Ball handling is a must and a great way to start a session. Once my athlete is warmed up and ready to go we will work on moves. Whether it is jab steps, spin moves, crossovers, or hesitation moves, every athlete can expect to master these. We would then move to shooting drills with sprints from all different spots on the floor, focusing on form, speed, and the ability to change direction/speed with and without the ball. We must incorporate different types of cuts with and without the ball as well (v-cuts, flairs, back doors, and curls). Also, defense is always a point of emphasis, involving stance, reads, and help defense. Sessions will include an ample amount of running and tons of hard work!
