More About Coach Soren

While I was a competitive athlete, I coached at PTS Summer Hockey School from 2014-2020, in Owatonna, Minnesota. From 2020-2022 I coached learn to play hockey for Elite Edge Skating Program in Wellesley, MA. After retiring from playing, I began coaching in the Boston area doing private and group skills lessons for Dream Big Hockey Stars with players from age 6-18.

I was a member of the Framingham State University men's ice hockey program for four seasons, one of which was cancelled due to COVID19. During my time at FSU, I earned all-academic MASCAC honors during all four winter sports seasons. After college, I was fortunate enough to continue playing at the professional level for the Delaware Thunder in the Federal Prospects Hockey League. Prior to college, I played three seasons of high school hockey in Minnesota and three years of junior hockey in the NAHL, USPHL, NA3HL, and MnJHL.
*Holds the all-time record for goals, assists, and points for the Steele County Blades of the USPHL*

A typical session with me will involve the 4 basic components of ice hockey: Skating, Puck-handling, Passing, and Shooting. Prior to the on-ice session I always ask players and parents what they would specifically like to improve on during the lesson, and from there I will assess the 4 basic skills and how they can relate to our area of focus for the lesson.
