More About Coach Sky
Out of college, I wanted to continue to love the game, but on a different path as a coach. I've been coaching at World Cup Soccer, spreading the love of the game through beginners starting at ages 5-12 and private coaching for players ages 5-18 at different play levels.
I began playing soccer at the age of three and have competed at a high level throughout my career. In middle school, I played for Strikers FC ECNL, where we won our league and qualified for nationals. I also competed for established clubs, including Blues FC ECNL/DA and Pateadores DA. In high school, I played for the Portland Thorns Academy, developing in an environment connected to one of the NWSL's most successful franchises, home to players such as Christine Sinclair, Tobin Heath, and Lindsey Horan. I continued my soccer career at the collegiate level across the country at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where I played as a forward. My experience across competitive youth soccer, academy development, and Division I college soccer has given me a strong understanding of the game and the dedication required to succeed at every level.
I build every lesson plan around the individual player. Our first session focuses on evaluating their current skill level, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and determining which areas of their game need the most improvement. From there, I work with the player and parent to establish clear goals, whether that means becoming a stronger player on their team or pursuing the long-term goal of playing Division I soccer.
Each lesson is tailored to the player's needs and progress. For example, if a player excels at passing but struggles with dribbling, we will focus on improving their dribbling technique in future sessions. I take a hands-on approach and aim to support each player both on and off the field.
Beyond training, I offer guidance on college recruiting, choosing between recreational and competitive soccer, navigating development programs, and finding the right level of play. When my schedule allows, I also attend games to evaluate how players apply their skills in real-game situations. Whether you need training advice or help choosing a backyard goal, I'm always happy to help players and families along their soccer journey.
