More About Coach Skyler
I have been coaching for 2 years, I have worked with players at every level from rec soccer to travel soccer. So far in my career I have worked with kids from the age of 6 all the way up to 16. I currently work for Summit Soccer Club (SCC) and I coach three teams for them U9, U10, U11. I do have my USSF soccer coaching license.
I have played soccer for 18 years, and have played at many levels (rec soccer, travel soccer, EDP, NPL, college). During my time at college I played for Sussex County Community College (SCCC) and we were ranked number 6 in the nation. As a team we played in the NJCAA national tournament.
I focus on a range of skills when I train somebody. The three main skills I work on are dribbling, passing, and movement. Those three skills are crucial to every player at every level.
Typical session looks like
- Warm up (both physically and mentally)
- Explain the session (make changes to session if needed)
- Go through session
- Finish with a game (example: shooting game. Keep track of points and try to get more points the next session)
