More About Coach Shelby
I have experience playing DI volleyball at Oral Robert’s University. I have coached youth teams and clinics/camps from ages 13-18. Along with youth I have head coach experience at the Junior College level. I currently coach DI volleyball at University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
I played DI volleyball at Oral Robert’s University for 4 years. I played as a middle and right side hitter. During my collegiate career as a player I earned all conference team during my senior season. My team also competed in the NIT tournament during my senior season.
During private lessons I want to focus on the athletes position. I usually get to know my clients and find out what skills they are less confident in. I will spend time working on these skills usually by breaking down the skill and focusing on the correct technique. I will slowly progress the drill to game speed so my client can begin to feel more confident in the skill. I have experience working with all positions and can work on skills such as serving, passing/ serve receive, defense, setting, and blocking/attacking.
