More About Coach Serg
I have 12 years of experience in the game of basketball. I have been coaching for 4 years, and training athletes 1-on-1 for 2 years. I have coached and trained anyone from the first grade up to the collegiate level. I have coached teams partaking in adult leagues (such as JCC) I have also coached summer camps and basketball seasons for the city of sunny isles beach. I am currently a trainer at Next Level Basketball, and work with NBA trainers such as Pat the Roc, Dribble2much, and 10,000hours. I work best with students in elementary through high school, but also have experience working with collegiate players and pro's.
High school Basketball (2009-2013)
Co-Captain of JV team (2010-2011)
Varsity Team (2011-2013)
Co-Captain of Varsity Team (2011-2013)
Lettered and received the Coaches Award (2012-2013)
Invited to and attended Scoutsfocus Elite 80 Showcase (2012)
Received ALL-TEAM award at the Owen Walker Jr. Crossover Basketball Tournament (2012)
I start with a 50% jog around the court to loosen up the body, followed by dynamic stretches. Following stretches we go in to body work, including core work, strength, speed, agility, and quickness. Next are defensive drills and strengthening of the muscles associated with defense (Lateral Movement). Following defense is ball handling, I work on all types of ball handling, these drills are both stationary and mobile. Drills can include pounding the ball, wrapping it around the body, speed dribbles, low bounces around each leg, figure 8 drills, drop and catch drill, scissor drill, behind the back bounces. Some drills are also done with 2 balls at once. (About 15 minutes to complete all). After ball handling, I work on passing, chest passes, bounce passes, overhead passes, lob passes to the post, and also wrap around bounce passes to the post. (About 10 minutes to complete) Next is lay-ups and finishing moves, here I get to interact with the client and breakdown the things they are doing wrong and correct them. I work on attacking the basket the correct way from a triple threat position. Pointers include jab stepping the correct way, or ripping through the defender and protecting the ball. We also work on explosion in this drill and change of pace and finishing at the basket. (About 15 minutes to complete) Last step is shooting. Drills include form shooting, one dribble pull ups, step-backs, catch and shoot, cross-over pull ups, elbow to elbow, coming off screens, and many more. While drills are being done, the client is being monitored and told pointers to perfect form, footwork, and efficiency. (30-60 minutes to complete). To finish up the workout, we may do conditioning or agility training. Suicides, full-court sprints, jump roping, ladder drills, resistance bands, and most importantly free throws in between. Since free throws are usually shot and have the most importance at the end of games when a player is worn out. (About 20 minutes to complete)
***I also have different equipment that I use later on in the sessions which adds resistance to drills***
Equipment includes: Cones, Tennis Balls, Ball Handling Goggles, Agility Ladder, Resistance rope, Resistance band, Fitness ball, Medicine balls, Jump rope, and more.
***Many drills and variations are not listed but that is what a first session may look like to evaluate the player, adjustments are made after the first session***

Hey Coach, today I had practice for my school. I didn't run the point today during practice but I was on the wings and I was a little nervous my first couple of shots but then I made my next three and I was cutting well and scored in the post. Coach said I did much better in practice today and I finally looked confident shooting the ball. I can see that you're training is helping me a lot already and we've only trained twice. Thank you.
