More About Coach Sean
I have been coaching and training soccer players since 18 years old. I have always done it next to playing and most recently acquired my UEFA B License from the German Football Federation. I have coached in the youth at Massapequa Soccer Club in New York, Khoromkhon FC in Mongolia, SC Condor in Hamburg, Germany, Heider SV in Heide, Germany and 1.F.C. Phönix Lübeck in Lübeck, Germany. At the age of 30 now, I have coached at basically every professional club I've played at as coaching is something I have always been passionate about. I have an adolescent education bachelors degree from SUNY Oneonta and coaching is just another form of education. I worked as a full-time high school Math Teacher instead of student teaching my last semester in college. I worked at Binghamton High school in upstate New York. Combining my professional experience as a player and countless hours of training under various coaches with my experience as a high school math teacher, I feel I bring a very unique perspective when training young soccer players.

I have played at both the collegiate and professional level. The most notable collegiate achievements at SUNY Oneonta are being awarded Conference Rookie of the Year my freshman year, and making it to the NCAA final four in both 2014 and 2015. Professionally I played one full season in the Mongolian Premier League in 2017. I then moved to Germany in January 2018, and played their until June 30, 2024. I played 102 games registering 17 goals and 3 assists as a center back/central midfielder/outside back. I signed for CV Fuego FC in USL League One in July of 2024, Portland Hearts of Pine in USL League One in January 2025 and I am happy to be back in the US growing the game stateside.

A player can expect a highly individualized session to work on both their strengths and weaknesses. Having spent almost 7 years in Germany, what I would consider the Mecca of youth development in soccer, I have learned how important the fundamentals and basics are. I like to use game realistic situations to incorporate the development of these techniques because the game of soccer is not played against a stagnant cone. We will start with an intro exercise/ warmup into the techniques we will be focusing on in that session. That will then be followed by a few exercises to take this technique and put it into a situation where the player also has to think with their head and make a decision. We will then end with an exercise that fully incorporates the main focus of the session in a game realistic situation to try to get as close as possible to game play. This is very much the German philosophy of a session and from my experience as a player and a coach, I believe it creates the best possible environment to grow.
