More About Coach Sean

I have been coaching 9U-12U baseball for 3 years. I played college baseball at Baylor University in Waco, TX. I am comfortable working with beginners and future professional/college pitchers.

While at Baylor, I carved out a niche working with my teammates to help fine tune their pitching mechanics. I developed an eye for being able to quickly identify slight problems that were affecting their performance. My goal is to help your son develop into the best pitcher that he can be.

During my time at Baylor, I also developed a strong interest in sports psychology and the mental side of pitching. I want to work with your son on the mental side of baseball almost as much as the physical side. In youth and high school athletics, the mental side of the game is mostly ignored. I believe an athletes mental makeup is what separates the average from the elite.

Earned a scholarship to play baseball at Baylor University. I was a hard throwing right handed pitcher (90-93 mph) that featured a plus slider and change-up. I was the Big XII pitcher of the week on February 16, 2015.

My sessions will vary greatly depending on the current skill level of the player. For the less experienced/skilled players, there will be a heavy emphasis on proper throwing mechanics before ever actually pitching. For more experienced players, we will work on fine tuning mechanics to maximize their potential. Throwing strikes is the most important part of pitching. Followed by being comfortable with secondary pitches and changing speeds. Velocity is not what I will be focusing on for 90% of my lessons. If there is a experienced pitcher that can already consistently throw strikes and use off-speed pitches effectively, we will work on some drills to increase velocity.

Client Reviews

Sean has been coaching my 11 year old son Spencer and his team for 3 years. He is excellent in breaking down pitching into simple terms, and making baseball fun for the kids. His expertise is in pitching, but he has helped the kids improve in all aspects of the game, including fielding, hitting, and base-running.
