More About Coach Scott

Played since the age of 5 and reached Club Level soccer in England for Stoke City, Port Vale, and Chester City.
Hold various England Football Association coaches badges, along with many NSCAA coaching qualifications.
Coaching in America since 2006 and been Director of Elite Player Development for a large soccer company. In charge of the recruitment of players, scheduling, budgeting, curriculum, and staff assignments.
Coached teams from the very basic level to the Elite ranked in Top 10 of New Jersey. Won many division titles and also College Showcase Titles.
Coaching session is based on intensity and technique. Real focus on better technique to make a better player all round.

I flew out from England in 2006 after having played soccer for several Pro soccer academy teams, and upon completion of a Sports Science degree from Liverpool University. From 2006-2008 I coached for UK Elite Soccer, where I coached a variety of ages from as young as 2-18 years old, and also various abilities, from the recreation standard, to having College showcase teams, who have been ranked in the top 10 of New Jersey. From 2008-2014 I had the great privilege to work for a company that specialized in coaching young children from 2-5 years old. This has allowed me to gain vast experience in coaching the younger generation of today.

In 2009 I became the Academy Director of Soccer, working for Soccer Domain Academy, based in Montclair New Jersey. In 2009 I also got placed into a club called Americans Soccer Club (Allendale, New Jersey) where I coached the same teams from 2009 until he left for Charlotte at the start of September 2014. Many of these players are bread into the high school system, and as of today Northern Highlands girls and boys are ranked 1 in New Jersey, and the girls are in the top 3 of the Country. During my time as a coach I have had the pleasure of coaching many great children, who have gone on to play College soccer, but most recently a former player from Northern Highlands (Hana Kerner) was selected for the U20 National team.

A big emphasis is placed on improving technique in all areas of a persons game. This could be in passing, stopping them from using the toe and having the perfect number 10 to pass the ball. Shooting, breaking it down into the simplest form, using laces and good follow through are just a couple. Each session is progressive with basic starting warm up moving to more technical and high intense sessions, while also keeping it fun so they learn in a positive environment.

Client Reviews

Scott Temmen is the best coach I've ever had. I have been lucky enough to play for him for over seven years and I have learned so much about the sport. He made every practice challenging so that we would improve but he also made it fun and enjoyable. He is very knowledgable and passionate about the game and is always willing to go above and beyond for his players. He works hard to make our team the best it could be and one of the best in New Jersey. His experience on the field shines through in his coaching. He taught me everything I know about the game and helped me advance in my soccer career to the college level. He is a great coach and a great person and I am very thankful that I had him as my coach. U17 player Ramapo College Amber Hermanns (Not just training did my daughter get from Scott but guidance and leadership. Being a keeper Scott was able to direct my daughter Lili and strengthen her technique's in a year and half under his supervision. Scott is personable, easy to talk too and enjoys whatever age group he might train.) -
As Scotts former staff development director (whilst working at SDA) along with my credentials of currently being on the National Staff for the NSCAA, i feel i am in a good position to do so. Scott was always diligent and focussed when both in staff training and stepping on the training field. He would always try to implement new ideas, alongside his own knowledge and experience, which made him enjoyable to work with and a good teacher of the game. One of Scott's main strengths was his ability to communicate with the players. He had the rare commodity of being stern and focussed, while making the sessions enjoyable and having regressive pull on his players. He was also very adaptable at coaching various age groups and genders, which i often identified to his peers. His sessions were always progressive and challenging for the players, no matter what the differentiation levels and his teams WANTED to play for him, which is a huge factor when coaching. I have no issues offering my full endorsement for Scott, as he was a hard working, enthused, punctual and a genuinely nice guy to be around. I am confident any organization whom choose to have him on their staff, would feel exactly the same way.
