More About Coach Scott

After I retired from the NBA, I started my coaching career as an assistant coach for Pacific University, which is an NCAA Division III school in 1997. I went on to coach at the FAST basketball academy for 3 years, where I coached a number of different age group of teams, and ran skills clinics for youth. Most recently I coached the girls JV and varsity basketball team at West Linn high school. I learned how to play and coach the game from legendary hall of fame coaches Ralph Miller and Larry Brown

I won numerous awards in high school in Beaumont California, including being named All-American, John Wooden Award player of the year for CA, CIF Player of the year, DeAnza Laegue MVP 2 times, among many others. In college at Oregon State University, I was a 2 time all Pacific 10 conference selection, PAC-10 champion in 1990, John Wooden Award college basketball player of the year semi finalist in 1993. I was drafted 14th overall in the 1993 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers, where we were the Central Division Champions in 1995. I retired in 1996 due to injury.

Every basketball player is different, with different strengths and skills. I typically tailor my sessions around the position the player plays or wants to play going forward. Always included in training are basic skill drills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive drills. My goal is to help develop a well rounded player, that has all the needed skills to be successful in the sport of basketball.

Client Reviews

He did a real good job on teaching my son the correct form and gave him drills to do at home to fix his form. Worked him pretty hard. I’d recommend him

Thanks Scott.

Coach Scott is a great coach and gave my son some excellent tips on shooting and form. Highly recommend!
