More About Coach Sarah

I work for the Ymca coaching basketball, baseball, and soccer; lacrosse for San Francisco Riptide. K-8th grades. Studying physical education and wellness at City College of San Francisco. I have been coaching since 2009. Also, I founded the women's lacrosse program at Columbia College, 2011-2013. I am certified by the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Assosiation (20170748). I am a US Lacrosse membersince 2008 and currently. I also passed the Positive Coaching Alliance's course on Double-goal Coaching. I am CPR and First aid certified through the American Heart Association.

I played and specialize in midfield and goalie, as well as reading the field, ball movement and stick skills. My college only had inter mural sports but I founded, coached, and played for the women's lacrosse for two years. We played local teams and other clubs. My high school had a new team but we made it to the playoffs every year since 2008. I was a team captain my senior year. I am currently playing for BayLax in the SF area, as well as for the USA women's team for the United World Games.

Warm up, stretch and run to get muscles moving. Evaluate skill set by doing basic drills of passing, catching, ground balls, cradling, etc. If those skills need sharpened, we will do more exercises to practice such as wall ball, ground hog, match stick. Then depending on what the focus position is, I have more intricate drills/games to work on which include a few games in one. Goalie is my first specialty and then offense. Reading the field and knowing where to be for efficient play is taught through simulation. On and off field communication is key to a successful team. Cool down and review of our session before we leave.
