More About Coach Sammie

The summer of 2015, I taught tennis full time in Denver at Colorado Athletic Club Monaco, which is one of the best Colorado clubs known for developing young athletes. I ran a summer camp 9-5pm consisting of 8-12 year olds, and also taught some private lessons, adult group lessons, and ran a Monday night high school girl's doubles group. I am currently freelancing and filling in for various clubs around the Greater Seattle Area after having moved here from Denver a month ago. I am looking for my own clients of all levels. I am looking to move near Bellevue so I can be at a nice in between to teach in Seattle, Bellevue, Mercer Island, and Issaquah. I also am trained at fitness training courses involving tennis designed sprints and conditioning.

I was a Division 1 athlete and competed for the University of Utah my freshman year 2012 under the Pac12. During that year, my partner Sarah Pham and I defeated Stanford's #3 doubles team and I also had a victory over one of the girls from UCLA, amongst other victories. I then transferred to Boise State where I competed for the remainder of my eligibility. By my senior year, I was team captain, was top 8 in the MWC with Bobbi Oshiro for number one doubles and made All-Conference Team, and I broke the singles record since 2008 at 25-4. I also earned multiple years of "Most Inspirational" on the team, "MVP", and MWC All Athletic Academic Conference awards.

A client, depending on his or her level, can expect me to expect his/her best effort. I will push them to make the best out of their time and keep working towards their goals, seeing as though tennis takes patience, perseverance, and diligence. I push them while making the lessons enjoyable with various drills for all strokes, including footwork, which is one of the most important aspects. I am a very optimistic and outgoing person who just wants the best for you and wants you to love the sport, so I will make sure you are enjoying your time.
