Session 1: Player Orientation. I get to know the player. What is their interest level in soccer? What are their goals for their development? What is their mental, physical, technical, and tactical capacity? What position do they play? What areas do they desire to improve in?
Session 2: Player Development. I put together a macro session plan for my time with the player. I use a periodized approach. This means that we take things one session at a time. I won't move on to the next development level until I know that a player has mastered a skill. I engage the player to determine their perception on their development. I give the player "homework" in order to work on skills outside of our time together. I believe that true development comes from a player's commitment outside of personal training. A player will not see significant improvement just by training with me once a week. A player will see improvement if they repeat our training over and over and over again.
Session 3 and beyond: Continued Player Development. My aim is for the player to take ownership over their training. My job as a coach is to provide the player with resources and feedback. Players who want to play at the next level will receive my feedback and then apply it on their own and at their team training sessions. They will watch soccer to improve tactically. They will have a ball at their foot outside of training to improve technically. They will run sprints in their backyard to improve physically. They will put themselves in situations that are difficult to improve mentally. My job is to fan these desires into flame.

Coach Sam is great! Very knowledgeable and patient with my 12 year old daughter. Highly recommend her for training.

Samantha was very professional and did a great job tailoring the lessons to my daughter's ability. There was lots of positive reinforcement and feedback, which made a big difference in how much she learned.

She was great! She helped chloe with the specific things that she was looking to improve on and gave her drills that she can continue working on at home.

Coach Samantha was terrific! My daughter (rising high school junior) plays for a travel team in DC but had to miss a couple of months due to an injury. Samantha did a fantastic job helping her work back into soccer while my daughter was in Charlotte visiting family during the summer, helping her improve her skills and regain her confidence so that she’s ready to rejoin her team. Samantha was very friendly, professional, and patient. It was an all-around great experience for my daughter—she will definitely want to work with Coach Samantha again, and we would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking to get top-notch personalized coaching.

Great coach understands the fundamentals of soccer for our daughter.
