More About Coach Ryan

I have been coaching since 2020. Last year, I was the head coach of a U-11 Boys team for Richmond Kickers Youth SC, as well as a goalkeeper coach for the club. In 2023, I was a private goalkeeper trainer for U-10 goalkeepers at Detroit City FC. I have also been the goalkeeper coach/assistant for the Gulliver Preparatory Boy's Soccer Team, where I also did separate gk training for the players. I have typically worked with kids aged 9-12, but I would like to coach older and more advanced kids as well.

I have just retired after playing professionally as a goalkeeper for the past 4 years. Last year, I played for the Richmond Kickers in the USL League One. Before that, I played 2 seasons with Detroit City in the USL Championship. Before that, I spend my rookie year with FC Tucson in USL League One. Before playing professionally, I played for 3 seasons and graduated from Cornell University, where I started in more than 40 games and still hold the record for most saves in a game (13).

In a session, a client can expect an adequate warm-up, followed by technical work, followed by a more physically challenging drill that relies on the technical aspects that were practiced before. I tend to focus my training on the importance of technique and being able to put said technique into action, so it may be effective no matter the player's physical attributes. I love to end training with some type of competition so that the sessions are fun.
