More About Coach Ryan

Coaching Experience & Background:

I’ve been coaching youth soccer for the past year through Soccer Shots, where I’ve worked primarily with children ages 2 to 8 years old. At Soccer Shots, I received their internal coaching certification, which included training in age-appropriate instruction, child development, safety, and creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

This role gave me hands-on experience running structured practices, managing small groups, and developing foundational soccer skills in young athletes. I’ve learned how to communicate effectively with both kids and parents, tailor drills to different age levels, and build confidence and enthusiasm in young players.

Age Groups & Levels:

Ages coached: 2–8 years old
Level: Beginner/youth developmental (non-competitive recreational level)
Certifications:

Soccer Shots Coaching Certification
(Currently pursuing additional certifications such as a USSF Grassroots License to further develop my coaching credentials.)
Goals as a Trainer:

Now, I’m looking to grow into private soccer training, where I can provide more personalized instruction and support to help young athletes build strong fundamentals, improve confidence, and develop a love for the game. I bring energy, patience, and a strong understanding of how to make soccer fun and rewarding for younger players.

Athletic Accomplishments:

I was a four-year varsity player and team captain at my high school, where I played as a center back. Being named captain all four years was a huge honor and speaks to my leadership on and off the field, as well as my ability to communicate, stay composed under pressure, and guide a team from the back line.

In addition to high school soccer, I played club for Florida Premier FC for four years, competing in the ENCL (Elite National Club League) bracket. That experience gave me exposure to high-level competition across the state and region, and helped me develop a deeper understanding of tactical play, positioning, and game management.

While I didn’t compete at the collegiate or professional level, I bring a high soccer IQ, leadership experience, and a competitive background that I now use to help young players grow both technically and mentally.

🧠 Coaching Style:
I keep sessions positive, high-energy, and focused on building confidence. Every drill has a purpose, and I always explain how it connects to the game. I tailor each session to the player's current skill level and goals, whether it's improving footwork, becoming more aggressive on defense, or just learning to love the game.

Client Reviews

Coach Ryan did a great job with my son. Prior to our first practice Ryan and I discussed what my son needed to work on and Ryan was ready with a specific plan to work on those things. Coach Ryan had some great drills, kept my son engaged and working hard for the entire session. We're looking forward to working more with Coach Ryan.
