More About Coach Rosan

I've been coaching for 6 years basketball and volleyball players from 9 years old to 35 yrs old. I was raised and born in Puerto Rico, moved to Florida when I was 15years old, and then played under a scholarship in my college career along with my passion about the sport.

Throughout my career, I've been playing at point guard which was one of the challenging positions for me but I got to be one of the best with my hard work.

I was All-American my last year of high school and that was the perfect way to finish that moment in my life.

My coaching career started after I finished my high school and right after high school.

I played college ball at Miami Dade College.

I started coaching young children such as 10 years old, and after I moved to coaching middle school at Nova University School where I'm currently working now as Head Junior Varsity Volleyball coach and Head Middle Basketball coach. I love to teach both girls and boys. I'm really big on developing young kids from 9 to 18 years old that have potential and love the sport as much I do.

I majored in psychology, I like to understand and teach them the foundation of team effort.

One of my main biggest award was in 2007 my senior year in High School (Imaculate La Salle). I got All-American as a point guard. It feel great and I got to see how important is to work hard every time and dream big. Don't wish it was easier Wish you were better.

A little bit about myself: I started to play basketball when I was 9 years old in my country Puerto Rico. I had a challenge trying I adjust myself to a new activity and now I understand why most of the kids they seem to feel confused or undecided about their choices but it's all about getting used to it once you know how bad you want it. I chose basketball and I fell in love with it because I saw myself overcoming the challenges through each practices and that is so awesome when you get to see yourself improving and definitely it brings out how competitive you get every time.

Due to my hard work I got recruited by a coach from Miami to go attend the High School that awarded me after all. Proud of my team effort my coach reinforced how important is to keep this foundation going and that's why I love coaching and will make other feel the same. My goals are helping young player to experience a high level of basketball which for me it's a great team sport as well volleyball. It require efforts, commitment and passion. I believe anyone can get to high school and take that big step of improvement and aim high level once they really try.

I first like to work on 1-1 warm up and execute couple of dynamics and stretching which is crucial for a good start.

Quick drills that involves speed and foot work is always needed on the sport of basketball. To get familiar with distance and plays I like to use my equipments to make it real as a game situations.

Each player needs a session for their special needs. My priority is asking for commitment, once players come to us coaches sure of what they want we will be ready to prepare them for the next step. Very important to take care of the priorities and I respect that a lot on privates because it's all about the clients needs and their goals. Therefore to make the athlete better we need to know I'm first place what is the most needed adjustment they looking for, drills specific for the client and prior to their success.

Basketball is a really competitive sport in which involves fast footwork and high resistance for impact. More than a basketball lesson, I am willing to teach the young players the foundations among the basics of how to be prepared from any pressure from inside outside. Strategies of discovering new methods of adjustments prior to their own pressure.

Also extremely important to reinforce to the next level how they need to overcome each time they practices. I believe that everything you do you should have a purpose, I'm going to focus on hold a player accountable. I believe communication is the key to improve the methods for the success.

The teaching process for the kids and/or even old athletes is really important that they understand the importance of holding on their dreams and goals accountable it all starts to happen when they get a ball and go for a shooting toward the ring, as silly as it sounds it's all about personality and basically my plans are to be consistent on how much you focus on getting as in total.
