Robert J.

Robert Jan is class “A” PGA Golf Professional originally from the Chicagoland area and after spending time on the east coast as a Golf Professional in New England he returned home and re-established himself on the North Shore of Chicago. Robert began playing golf at a very young age and decided to take his love of golf and make it his career. After graduating from Millikin University, Robert earned his Class A PGA membership in 1992. Shortly thereafter, he was inducted into Millikin University’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Before creating the Robert Jan Golf Academy, Robert assisted and developed training systems at top facilities across the United States including Mission Hills Country Club, Innisbrook Resort Club, Fox Hollow Golf Club, The Crumpin-Fox Club and Pheasant Run Resort and Spa where Robert designed and developed one of the finest Practice Facilities and Learning Centers in Chicagoland. Robert has also become an expert in club fitting. Robert is currently a registered certified fitter by many of the major manufactures including Titleist, Ping, Callaway, TaylorMade, Bob Vokey Wedges, Roger Maltby Systems and Scotty Cameron Putters. Robert’s true passion is not only teaching people how to play the game but developing them into true champions. Robert’s son, Nicholas Jan plays D1 West Coast Conference at Loyola Marymount University in LA, California. Robert developed Edge Performance Golf Academy of Chicagoland in order to offer the finest golf performance training available. Robert is the Director of Golf Operations at Ashford University, where he is also the Head Golf Coach for both the men’s and women’s teams. Ashford University Men’s Golf was recently ranked in the top 25 NAIA in GCAA Polls. In addition Robert is the former Head Golf Coach of The College of Lake County where he recently assisted the Men’s team in winning the 2013 Skyway Conference Championship and helped two players to qualify for the NJCAA National Tournament.

One-on-one instruction, offered in 60-minute increments, focuses on the individual student. An in-depth analysis of player’s current game identifies specific areas in need of improvement and provides a com- prehensive plan for consistency and success.
