More About Coach Renville
I’ve been coaching youth soccer for 2–3 years and currently work with both U12 recreational and travel teams. I typically train athletes between the ages of 10–12, but I also work with older players in group sessions outside of my club roles. I’ve helped players improve technically, tactically, and physically through consistent, focused training. I hold a U.S. Soccer D License, and my coaching is backed by personal playing experience at the NCAA and NJCAA level. I also stay active in the game by competing in local high-level leagues and continuing my own training.
As a player, I’ve competed at the collegiate level for both Bethany College (NCAA Division III) and Frederick Community College (NJCAA). At Bethany, I helped lead the team to the conference finals in 2018, narrowly missing the title in a 1–0 loss. In 2022, I played for FCC, where we once again reached the regional finals. While I haven’t played professionally, I’ve trained and competed with semi-pro and pro players, and continue to play in competitive local leagues. My dedication to the game has helped me earn respect as both a player and a coach.
In a typical session with me, athletes can expect high energy, focused instruction, and a balanced mix of technical work, fitness, and game-related drills. I usually start with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the body and prevent injuries, followed by ball mastery exercises like dribbling, first touch, and passing drills. From there, we move into position-specific or scenario-based training, depending on the player's needs—this could include shooting, defensive footwork, or small-sided games to build decision-making and awareness. I finish sessions with conditioning or agility work and a cool-down, always leaving time for feedback and personal motivation. My goal is to push players while keeping the session fun, challenging, and purposeful.
