More About Coach Rebecca
Hello there! Thank you for looking at my profile. I trust that you will like what you see and choose me as your softball hitting and fielding coach.
I am originally from the Binghamton, NY area. That is where I received the majority of my ball playing experience. I started playing organized ball at the age of 8 and have loved playing or coaching ever since.
I played in youth leagues throughout elementary years, middle school and high school. My high school did not have a very good softball program at all but I accomplished a great deal individually. For my 3 years on varsity, I was selected to the first team all-conference team as a first basemen with a a batting average over .400.
Along with my high school experience, I was a part of an ASA traveling team during the summers from age 14-18. In four years, my batting average was .390 and a fielding percentage of .950 as a first basemen.
During those four years, I had excellent coaches who taught me more about proper technique in batting and fielding. I still use most of those techniques and teaching methods when I coach individual players.
For my college playing years, I went to a local junior college where under a National Championship coach, I blossomed as a hitter and fielder. In two years, I had a batting average of .529 with my best year batting .609. My fielding percentage was .998 with my best year being a perfect 1.000. In my second year, I was selected to the preseason All-American team. Unfortunately, due to a severe knee sprain, I was unable to complete the full All-American status.
In 1998, I earned my Associated Degree in Liberal Arts.
After junior college, I went to a small college out in Indiana. My body wouldn't let me compete at a level that I was accustomed to so I decided to hang up the cleats and retired as a player. I earned my bachelors degree in Physical Education in 2002.
In 2004, I moved to Vineland, NJ for a teaching position and also became the head coach of the not-so-good Varsity softball team at a Vineland, NJ area school. A short 3 seasons later, our team upset the reigning league team and won the first softball championship in 10 years.
In 2009, I was the assistant softball coach for Cumberland County College.
A typical session would last about an hour. Our sessions would be at a pre-determined place. To start, a lot of techniques can be taught in your home in the backyard or basement. I will come to you for our sessions. I want it to be as convenient for you and your parents as possible. With hitting instruction or fielding instruction and sometimes both. Each session will build upon the lesson previous with some warm up and review of what was taught. I have learned through teaching hitting or fielding that starting small and keeping it simple can only help the athlete be successful come game time. "Keep it simple" is my mantra.
I hope that gives you an idea what kind of experience I have in softball. I have a sincere passion for softball, for teaching and for coaching young people so they can be successful on the field and in turn, have confidence in other areas of life outside of sports.
Thank you for your time. I hope to see you soon as we begin to make you into a better softball player.

Prompt, courteous and very focused. Critique was quick, but not rushed. Methodical approach. Immediate instruction with repetition stressed. Her experience and passion for the game was evident. Daughter played incredible the following day. Attention Daddy Ballers: Please don't waste her time! ...........Solid people make solid coaches. She is worthy of a speed dial button, LOL, I'm showing my age.

My daughter had a great experience working with Rebecca. She improved in fielding, batting and her confidence. Her first 2 games of the Fall season, she looked great. I highly recommend Rebecca and wish we lived nearby all year so that she could work with Rebecca throughout the year.
