About Coach Ray, Our family met him before our son’s second season at Florida Fire. He was nine years old. Like every child that likes a teacher/coach and then they have to change our son was no different. After the first training we asked our son over dinner how does he like Coach Ray? It was a quick answer: He’s awesome! Over the year we came to agree. Coach Ray was not only a Soccer Coach but a Life Coach. Our son felt loved and learned a lot from a gentleman that pour his heart and soul into the team and their families. He teaches with heart and he is amazing with children. We miss him a lot!

I went on to play division 1 collegiate soccer and trained with the Colombian national team a few times and I am grateful for a coach that still pushes me towards my passion today.

Coach Ray Morgan was my high school coach who instilled in players the beauty and passion for the game of soccer. When I reminisce on the high school soccer days, I remember Ray teaching me to go with the flow of the game. This was a game changer for me. If I was trying moves to get past a player and I tripped over the ball, instead of just stopping and dwelling on the mistake, he taught me to keep going and just roll with it. So the ball got stuck on my foot? Just go with the flow, regain control and come out on top. He taught me little tips and tricks that made my game that much stronger. We won District Playoffs all four years of my high school career, with Ray as our coach. I remember on the bus rides to our games and at half times, he would give the most inspiring speeches. At times he would really put us in our place, which is exactly what we needed! We would go into the second half and play 10 times better. His passion fired us up.
