More About Coach Ramona
I currently coach for Internationals Soccer Club. I have coaching badges from US Soccer and the Football Association in the UK and have coached nearly 2000 players anywhere from aged 2 to 50 years. I have coached for disability sports on small and very large scales. I also coached in Ghana for a few months, at an international youth tournament in Sweden and with soccer experts in the Netherlands and UK. I have been coaching for 20 years and have extensive experience in travel, community and school environments as well as elite clubs and development centers.
I have played soccer for 25 years, it has been the driving force of my life. I currently run a women's pick up session and did the same for many years in London providing a safe and supportive space that exceled growth and development in women from all backgrounds. I have won tournaments as a player but more importantly, was the first and only coach to win Coach of the Year 3 times in a row for my partnership in London as well as being shortlisted for Contribution to Girls Football Award by the FA. Most recently I've been named Coach of the Decade by my former club in the UK.
I am focused on long term player development, ensuring that each session touches on all aspects of the game: technical, physical, psychological/mental and social. I believe that in order for a player to reach their full potential they need to be challenged for their soccer abilities and their soccer brains. I have worked with players from many different backgrounds, all over the world. I believe that in order to teach someone at the highest level, I must know them as well as I know the game. Deeper learning is possible with a positive rapport between player and coach. I use guided discovery and a lot of questions to help get players to own and use their knowledge and pride myself on being consistent with positive reinforcement, as I believe players will strive to reach their best more often, when they feel good about the improvements they've made, however small.

Coach Ramona was fantastic. My daughter really enjoyed the training session, and wants to continue doing more. Ramona walked her through several drills and explained everything very thoroughly. We worked on several stretches, foot skills and then focused on drills for a defender. It was very informative for her and she learned new things in the first session.
