More About Coach Phillip
I began coaching tennis right out of college for Silvia Tennis Academy at Seven Oaks country club. I started out as an assistant Proffesional for the 1st year and then was promoted as the Junior Director. I have coached adults & teams from beginners to 4.0/ A level ALTA teams. However my true love and passion is being able to coach kids. I have coached kids ages (3-17) from all different levels. My passion in life is coaching sports in general and it comes from growing up playing and lettering in high school in 4 different sports. It may come as a suprize but I actually did not play a lot of tennis growing up because I was always playing two different sports each season at a high level. Over the past 5 years I have transitioned into not only a USPTA proffesional certified tennis coach but also coaching kids in a variety of sports focusing on overall athletics.
Another passion of mine is personal training and am currently in the process of completing my certification for personal training.
Lettered in four sports at Milton High School.
"Basketball, baseball, rugby, and tennis"
Was the captain of my college Rugby team at Georgia Southern University for two years.
All depends on the client. The way I figure this out is in the begging of each lesson I work on basic footwork drills that incorporates hand eye coordination and body control.
I believe the most important thing for anybody especially kids is that they enjoy whatever sport or activity there doing so it has helped that I am very energetic, friendly, enthusiastic and can talk to anyone. Once a client is comfortable / enjoying the lesson then they will work 100x harder without even knowing it and that's what I have focused on and seen results with.
