After serving in the U.S. Army as a head hand to hand combat instructor I now pursue any applicable knowledge in the fitness industry. I have multiple certifications ranging from senior fitness and exercise therapy, to strength and conditioning. I have worked in big corporate gyms as well as small specialty studios. I now train privately and am available for in home, open facility and outside training in the DC area.I am a level 2 Elite fitness trainer and am soon to be evaluated for my Master Fitness Trainer Credential. With my combined personal, military and coorporate fitness experience I have successfully worked with a wide variety of client types with goals ranging from weight loss to weight gain to endurance and everything in between as well as ages ranging from sixteen to seventy-three. I coached the winner of a local weightloss challenge.
While in high school, I played varsity football, wrestled in the light heavyweight class and was a state qualifier for both the shotput and discus. I served 5 years of active duty military where fitness is paramount. I have earned the highest level of Army Combatives Certification available, Level 4 Tactical instructor and was lead instructor of hand to hand combat for hundreds of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen alike. I have also earned a brown belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu. After victories in the local and regional tournaments, I was sponsored to competed in the All Army Competition (a national level championship MMA tournament).
Each individual has their own goals. Similarly everyone is at a different fitness level. All clients also have their one specific weak point or injury. Our sessions together will be designed to cater to your specific conditions. Every exercise is a progression and every workout a step towards our goals. We will systematically train what needs to improved to systematicallly work towards our end result.
Sessions will typically begin with dynamic prepatory movements and progress into our specific workout design. The last 10 minutes will be dedicated to stretching the muscles used and helping to encourage muscle recovery. I take great pride in educating each client to facilitate a life of wellness after our goals are reached and our training sessions are completed.
