More About Coach Paul
I have coached baseball for over 30 years at prestigious baseball camps, at the college level and at the high school level. I am currently at an indoor training facility in Thousand Oaks. Previously, I was an assistant coach at a National Championship high school in Los Angeles and I was the head coach of a high school in Malibu. I was also a Camp Director at a baseball center in Encino, California. I have also coached at two different NCAA institutions and in the Shenandoah Valley Summer Collegiate Baseball League.
I played four years at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. Right after college I went into college coaching at Eastern Connecticut State Univ. where we won the Division 3 NCAA National Championship in 1990. I went on to coach at Division 1 University of Hartford for three years. I moved to Florida in 1994 working at Bucky Dent's Baseball school as one of the full time coaches. I was recruited by Reggie Smith in 1995 to move to Los Angeles to help him start his summer camps and baseball school.
From 2001-2009 I was head coach at Malibu High School where we won the school's first two baseball league championships and left as the all time leader in coaching wins.
From 2009-2019 I was an assistant coach at the Harvard-Westlake School, where we won four league championships, a Division 1 CIF Championship and were named 2013 High School National Champions .
I like to work both hitting and pitching the same way. By building a strong foundation of mechanics with drills and controlled actions, I like to do baseball lessons the same way a musician learns a new piece of music. We start slow with the correct motions and then build up to game speed. I do not try to "cookie cut" players, but there are basics of mechanics that need to be the same with each player.

My son had a wonderful lesson and liked the way he explained things to him.

Coach Paul has been great with my 9 year old son. He is patient and kind, and focuses on both the little details and the big picture. My son enjoys his lessons, and enjoys practicing at home what he has learned in the lessons. Coach Paul is clearly a wealth of knowledge about baseball, and I think my son is benefiting already after just a couple of lessons.

Paul was fantastic with my 8-year-old son. He had enormous patience and broke down the basics of pitching such that he understood it and is working on it daily now. We are scheduling future sessions with Coach Paul because of the improvements in our son's ability and technique.

Coach Paul was awesome, my son and I were really pleased with his teaching style and baseball knowledge, in just a short time my son felt like he learned a lot from him. I would definitely recommend coach Paul.

Coach Paul is an incredible coach. My son is just starting Little League and was feeling intimidated because many of the kids have been playing for a couple of years and he has no idea how to play. Getting started with Coach Paul helped him understand the basics and gain some confidence to start practicing with his team immediately. We are extremely grateful to have found Coach Paul, who is extremely knowledgeable, skilled and patient. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you!

Coach Paul is outstanding. He clearly knows the ins and outs of everything baseball, but his brilliance is in his ability to break down the mechanics of baseball into very simple fundamentals that our 8 year old son was able to quickly grasp.
After only one session, our son was hitting and throwing more consistently. Just as important, though, our son loves it. Coach Paul says that his job is to coach you so that you eventually won't need him any more, but given his depth of knowledge and his keen insight, it's hard to imagine ever being at the point where he would not be able to make you better.

I hired Coach Paul to work with my 8 year old. Just watching him coach my son at his first lesson was enough to let me know my son was great hands. In just one lesson, my son had a more comprehensive understanding of why he needed to stand a certain way, how to gauge where to stand when hitting and how to better follow the ball. In just one lesson he was hitting better and with more power. We are already booked for our second lesson and plan to continue lessons throughout the season and after!

Paul was great!, He asked questions and listened to my son. He was able to see the things that my son was missing something that I just didnt notice. Thanks Paul we are looking forward to the next day we get together and see the improvement.
