More About Coach Parker

Since my sophomore year in high school, I've been viewed as a leader and a reliable player towards my teammates. Picking up leadership roles throughout my baseball career, I've learned that I have a knack for teaching the fundamentals of baseball along with more specific attributes to increase a player's performance in the field. The summer of 2021, I was a summer camp counselor at Camp Skylemar located in Naples, Maine, where I taught baseball drills and activities to kids ranging from 5-16 years of age.

Once a Simi Youth Baseball Alumni, I am currently going into my senior year in college, playing for Penn State Beaver. For my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior year, I had a leadership role. With batting .305 last year and leading the team in walks and OBP (.461), I currently have a .283 career batting average, as well as a .898 career fielding percentage. My sophomore year I earned the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award for displaying excellent sportsmanship while participating in events for Penn State University and PSU Athletic Conference. This past season, I also earned an Academic All-Conference Award by maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA while participating in Penn State athletic activities.

The first few coaching sessions will mainly be about learning who I will be coaching. I want to establish am early relationship with the player and I want to understand what their goals are and what they would like to approve upon. I also want to understand what they wan to get out of the coaching session. Once, that is established, we would go right into stretching our arms and legs, then into warming up by throwing including long toss. Depending on what position they want to work on, I will develop a specific set of drills for them. Outfield drills will consist of drills on how to take efficient routes to the ball, how to play balls off the wall, how to think ahead and anticipate what you would do if the ball is hit to you next. Hitting drills will consist of proficient tee work and batting practice to help fix inconsistencies seen in a swing with incorporating situational hitting drills. Pitching drills will consist of working on delivery repetition and pitch location and how to generate the max speed possible. Infielder drills will consist of ground ball repetition, positioning for different ground balls and quick transitions from ball to hand.

Client Reviews

My 8 year old got to work with coach Parker and he was great!! My son needs to get the basics of baseball down and coach Parker taught him more in his lesson than my son learned in an entire season of T-ball. He was patient and encouraging and we look forward to working with him again.
