More About Coach Paris

I am a Volleyball Program Manager and Travel Coach with experience developing athletes from age 4 through 20. I design and oversee structured training pathways that guide players from early fundamentals to high school varsity and competitive travel levels.

Alongside managing programming, I actively coach travel and varsity athletes, lead private and small-group sessions, and specialize in positional development and volleyball IQ (volleyball IQ and mindset is a big part of my training, not just physical). My approach emphasizes technical precision, efficient movement patterns, and long-term athlete development over quick fixes. I integrate biomechanics, strength training principles, and injury prevention strategies into skill sessions to help athletes become stronger, more explosive, and more durable.
My philosophy and curriculum is partially influenced by Gold Medal Squared, Powercore 360, and Art of Coaching.

I’ve trained in clinics under Coach Alan Knipe (Long Beach Men’s Volleyball), Paula Weishoff (Volleyball Olympian), Coach Kiy of Trainwithcoachkiy, Nike Volleyball Camps, and Pat Powers (Men’s Volleyball Olympian).

Additionally, I am a Certified Personal Trainer, USAV IMPACT-certified, SafeSport certified, and Red Cross BLS CPR/AED certified.

I competed in multiple sports growing up, including volleyball, soccer, track & field, and swimming, developing a strong multi-sport athletic base. In volleyball, specifically, I was a libero, however I absolutely enjoy coaching all positions.
My collegiate experience in Army ROTC further strengthened my leadership, conditioning, and performance discipline.

While I take pride in my playing background, my greatest impact has been as a developer of athletes. I specialize in helping players improve measurable performance metrics (vertical jump, approach mechanics, arm swing efficiency), elevate volleyball IQ, and transition successfully into competitive school and travel environments.

My strength lies in understanding movement science and translating it into actionable coaching that improves performance, confidence, and durability.

A typical session with me is structured, intentional, and athlete-centered.

We begin with a dynamic warm-up focused on mobility, core activation, and proper movement mechanics. From there, we move into technical skill refinement specific to the athlete’s position (serve/receive mechanics, attacking footwork, arm swing sequencing, defensive positioning, or setting tempo).

I emphasize:
• Efficient movement patterns
• Shoulder-to-hip separation for power
• Core engagement and sequencing
• Decision-making and volleyball IQ
• Game-like repetitions with feedback

Sessions often include live-rep progressions, situational play, and corrective feedback with clear cues athletes can immediately apply.

For hybrid performance sessions, we integrate strength work targeting glutes, core stability, landing mechanics, and upper-body power to improve vertical jump, durability, and overall athleticism.

Athletes can expect high energy, detailed instruction, and measurable progress.
