More About Coach Olivia

I played D1 ACC soccer at Clemson University, and played the top teams in the nation throughout the season. Throughout college, I coached Clemson girls soccer camps, and worked with girls from age 7-17. In the summer, I coached individually, and I worked with Fort Lauderdale FC. With this club, I coached summer camps and practices with children ranging from age 4-16.

At Clemson University, I achieved the award with the highest fitness score on the team. I played in several matches throughout my career, and was called in for the Italian national team in 2018. I traveled throughout the country, playing teams like UCLA and UNC. I have also played against professional women’s teams such as North Carolina Courage. When I played club soccer in ECNL, my soccer team was ranked fourth in the nation. My college team has competed in tournaments such as the NCAA national tournament, and the ACC tournament every year of college.

In a typical session, my main goal to focus on is fast feet. At a young age, the first thing children should focus on in their development is speed, especially with the ball. To grow as a soccer player, you need to have sharp technique that will grow and develop to help you better yourself as a soccer player. With this in mind, I would work on ladder workouts, small dribbling through cones, and proper shooting technique that should be corrected at a young age. Developing this at a young age is crucial because it is hard to grow and obtain at a later stage. I would also work on passing patterns and juggling, which also helps with shooting. Lastly, I would throw in fitness drills, which would reflect a game setting and how maintaining fitness is crucial while practicing technique.
