More About Coach Nika
I currently serve as the Head Soccer Coach for boys and girls teams at the International School of San Francisco, working primarily with 4-8th grade players in 7v7 ; 9v9 & 11v11 environments. My teams include players with a wide range of experience levels, from beginners to competitive club players from organizations such as SF Glens and Dynamo. In just one season, I have helped players improve their technical skills, confidence on the ball, game understanding, and overall performance in matches.
Previously, I worked as a Youth Soccer Coach with Super Soccer Stars, coaching players ages 3–10 and focusing on technical fundamentals, coordination, ball mastery, and introducing young athletes to the game in a fun and engaging way. I also served as an Assistant Coach with Soccer Without Borders, mentoring immigrant and refugee youth through soccer while emphasizing teamwork, inclusion, and personal development.
I typically work with players ages 6–14 and enjoy coaching athletes of all ability levels, especially beginners who are building a strong foundation as well as more experienced players looking to improve their technical skills, decision-making, and soccer IQ. My goal is to create a positive environment where players develop confidence, improve quickly, and enjoy the game.
I currently hold U.S Soccer Grassroots license and looking to pursue D License
I competed at the NCAA Division II level for Chaminade University Athletics, where I balanced academics and athletics as a student-athlete. During my collegiate career, I earned All-Academic Student-Athlete honors for my performance both on the field and in the classroom.
As a member of a young program, I was part of the team that achieved the program's first-ever away victory against our rival team and helped establish the best record in the program's first five years of existence. Competing at the collegiate level gave me valuable experience in high-level training environments, tactical development, teamwork, and the commitment required to succeed as a student-athlete.
These experiences continue to shape my coaching approach today, helping players develop not only their technical skills but also their confidence, discipline, and understanding of the game. Most importantly i bring a lot of enthusiasm to help athletes discover their love for the game.
Every session is tailored to the player's age, experience level, and individual goals. I work with players ages 6–14, ranging from complete beginners who are just learning the fundamentals of soccer to competitive club-level athletes looking to sharpen their technical skills, decision-making, and overall game awareness in a more structured environment.
A typical 60-minute session begins with a dynamic warm-up designed to improve mobility, coordination, balance, and comfort on the ball. This is followed by ball mastery work and technical repetition to build confidence and consistency in core skills such as dribbling, passing, receiving, turning, finishing, and 1v1 attacking moves, all adjusted based on the player’s development stage and needs.
For beginners, I focus on creating a fun, positive, and encouraging environment where players can develop strong foundational skills, build confidence, and develop a genuine love for the game through engaging and age-appropriate activities. For more advanced players, I introduce higher-intensity, game-realistic drills that emphasize speed of play, first touch under pressure, spatial awareness, and smarter decision-making in realistic match scenarios.
