More About Coach Nico
I started coaching immediately after playing college ball. I knew pretty early on that whenever my playing career came to an end I'd want to make the transition to coaching. I have been coaching at St. Francis High School in Watsonville for 6 years, and was the Head Coach of the 16u Watsonville Aggies for 2 years. I enjoy working with kids of all ages. If you're wondering if it's too early, it's not. The sooner we start working, the better!
Watsonville High School: 4 years Varsity, 3 time First Team All League, Santa Cruz County Athletic League (SCCAL) Player of the Year.
Skyline College: 2 time All Conference, Rawlings Gold Glove Winner.
We will start with building a solid foundation, then move on to more advanced and demanding high baseball IQ drills. I want players to be able to consistently hit balls square for average, without sacrificing power. I have a similar approach to defense. We will work to turn all plays turn into routine plays by learning the basics, as well as developing the instincts and skills it takes to make a play worthy of Sportcenter's Top 10.
