More About Coach Nicole

I am currently a physical education teacher for PreK through 8th grade in East Harlem. I coach basketball and track to students in 2nd through 8th grade. I also assist in coaching a varsity girls team. I also hold my professional coaching license for basketball. I coach at PS/MS 57 in East Harlem. I have coached aau basketball for Bainbridge-Guilford middle school teams for 3 years. I have also been an assistant coach for a Varsity girls basketball team for the past 3 years at FDA in Harlem. For the past 5 years I have coached 2nd grade through high school at PS 51 in Manhattan, as well as FDA high school girls in Harlem.

I played D3 college basketball and have played since I was in 5th grade. I just currently last year stopped playing myself to coach and help the youth gain the knowledge of the game, as well as skills. I obtained second team all star awards while playing at Oneonta State. I also played two years for Broome Community College before playing for Oneonta State to finish my college career.

Fundamentals are extremely important to me. Skills that will be addressed are:
•dribbling
•shooting
•proper form
•passing
•moving without the ball
•defensive stance/principals
•shooting off the dribbling
•basketball IQ
•awareness of the court
•scenerio awareness

Athletes will begin by stretching and warming up, then we will continue with drills to meet the needs of each specific client.

Client Reviews

(no details provided)

Coach Nicole has been working with my 8-year-old son, who is a bit intimidated by basketball. She has patiently broken down the fundamentals of dribbling, getting into position and making a shot, and he's much more comfortable handling the ball as a result. Her calm and gentle manner has been particularly effective, and he has made considerable progress in a short time.

After working out with Coach Conway, I made a realization of how out of shape I am. I have made it a priority to work out more often because the importance of being in shape is very important to my ability to compete.
Coach Conway does an excellent job of meeting the needs of each individual athlete. She helped me improve my fundamentals and improve my shooting form. After practicing what she taught me I am one of the leading scorers on my team now.
