More About Coach Nick
I’m a coach for the Colorado Rapids, Ft Collins region and have been coaching for 5 years. I started my coaching career at the Kaptiva Sports: Barcelona Camps. Since then, I‘ve coached at various clubs in Miami and have also done a lot of personal training. I’ve had the opportunity to work with kids between the ages of 6-18. I love the small details of the game and my core ideas and concepts come from the technical and tactical side of the game.
I've played soccer since I was 5 years old. I achieved being rookie of the year and MVP of my high school soccer team during my 4 years there. l was also selected my senior year for the All- Dade team which is a selection of the best soccer players in the Miami-Dade district. I've played in tournaments all around the country at the club level. I've participated in many recruiting/training camps including Arizona State University, Garden City College, and UCF.
The session begins with a warm up which can consist of jogging, stretching, and juggling/ light touches on the ball. While this is happening there is an explanation of the day's session and any questions that need to be addressed. Throughout the session I increase the intensity while still enjoying the game. I try to make it competitive and realistic so every class the client/student feels like they have improved or learned something. The drills almost always deal with a ball and there is always attention to detail. There will always be an explanation of why something is done. Usually the drills focus on the weakness of the athlete so eventually they can become their strengths. We usually end the session with a cool down and a talk about what we did, what should be expected next class, and feedback on the overall session.
