More About Coach Nicholas
I have coached a local recreation league for 2 seasons. I have also been coaching one-on-one a now 8th grader for about 2 years. I have coached U10 and U13. I have also helped my peers (collegiate athletes) with training as well. I have mainly worked at a local park, and the one-on-one was just by myself. Typically, I have worked with middle schoolers and am now working with some younger high schoolers. I have no industry certifications.
I have played through high school. I won regionals with Mascoutah High School and was awarded a local award called the Joe Dressler award, which was for sportsmanship, my senior year of high school. I was captain of my high school team. I also played for St. Louis Scott Gallagher, where we won a few tournaments through the years.
I would start with warm-up and stretching. From there, I would likely know what is needed to work on, so I would cater to each player or group that I work with. I do not have specific drills that I always use, as that could get a bit boring for the player. Depending on the position or specific things that they told me they wanted to work on, I would use drills fit for that. I would also want to offer a video analysis of the players that I work with, as I believe that would help a lot as well.
