I am writing to you in regards to Nezam Etemadi’s work experience here with the City of Menlo Park. Nezam was hired in 2009 as a full-time Camp Director for our Mini & Menlo Madness Summer Camps. The program is design for children ages 4.5-12. Nezam stayed on board as part of the Menlo Madness staff for over 2 years. He also provided year-round support to our special events team and other programs. Nezam was selected from a large pool of applicants as we could forsee great things from him.
Over the past several years, he rose to the occasion and the high standards to which we held him. He gracefully accepted a leadership role to ensure successful summer of service for the Menlo Park community while continuously maintaining the safety of our campers, Nezam facilitated a variety of activities including: swimming, cooking, arts & crafts, games, sporting activities, field trips and special events. During his time her Nezam established genuine relationships with the parents and families in our programs. His charismatic way captured the attention of our campers and set positive examples for his staff. He was infamous for coming to work each day with a smile on his face, and his commitment to the excellence of our program was unrivaled. Given the qualities he has exemplified over the past several years, I can recommed Nezam without reservation.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Nezam Etemadi for three years. In that time he has
repeatedly exemplified professionalism and showcased his creativity. I met Nezam at a
Community Center Sports and Wellness complex where I was a Director and he was hired as
the Sports and Wellness Manager. Nezam reported directly to me until my departure in April
Nezam stepped into a difficult role and situation. He was hired to oversee a brand new
department in a community center that was, at that time, in its infancy. Nezam built solid
foundations, creating systems and relationships, to ensure long-term growth for his department
and the overall community center. His department was a cornerstone to the consistent growth
in membership level and participation in programs and summer camps.
Nezam has big ideas and the wherewithal to follow-through. Always eager to learn more and
improve both personally and professionally, he voluntarily participated in numerous activities to
further his knowledge of health and wellness. His leagues and children’s programming
contributed to the community center being voted best in the area in 2011 and 2012.
