More About Coach Nathan

I have experience coaching pitchers and baseball players in general from all ages. I have worked with Tom House and Alan Jaeger on numerous occasions throughout the years. I currently coach Professionals.

I pitched for UC Santa Barbara back in 2003-2005 in the Big West Conference. There I worked with Then Dodger Pitching Coach Rick Honeycutt and current AA Detroit Tigers Pitching Coach Dan Ricabal. Before reaching UCSB I was working routinely with Tom House where I learned proper mechanical, mental, emotional and nutritional information. I have worked with Jaeger Sports. After College I went onto Pitch in the American Association for the Sioux City Explorers and later Pitched for the Orange County Flyers of the California Golden League. I currently compete in Leagues throughout Arizona.

A typical session will include warming up the body core temperature utilizing dynamic warm ups & plyometrics to loosen up the Body/Arm for throwing. Proper Efficient Mechanics are emphasized and drilled repetitively undera watchful eye. Utilization of the Bodys correct posture, alignment, timing and intent are all heavily emphasized in order to increase velocity and control. Typical flat ground throwing will ensue where mechanical efficiency will be allowed to lengthen out and build arm strength. On occasion we will throw off of a mound but most skill work will be done away from the gravity of a mound so as to not tear down the deceleration muscle group. Depending on the level of development of the pitcher I have also a specific ballistic weighted ball program that will help develop arm strength, control, neuromuscular explosiveness and velocity. The Ballistic program is very high intensity and must be gradually be worked into. At the end of each session there will be conditioning usually with a medicine ball, weighted vest , parachutes, and weights in order to build the Pitchers lower half and core strength. Arm care using light dumbbells will be utilized to maintain rotator cuff health. I highly recommend pitchers bring sleeves and/or a jacket to regulate core temperature as well as bringing plenty of water because we will be working quite hard. Sessions can run anywhere between 1 hour and 1.5 hours or longer depending on the work that is being addressed. Video Feedback will also be utilized so that the player/parent can perceive what is happening. Stalker Sport Radar Gun will be used to accurately track the increase of speed. A Typical session with me will go 2 hours.

Coach Nathan was very communicative and thorough with Asher. Made improvement in just one session and will continue to work with him in the future.

My son really enjoyed working with Coach Nathan! He felt he got to work on important skills and that some things really clicked for him. From my perspective, he gave clear direction and great feedback in the moment. They worked hard and he kept my boy engaged the whole time. Very positive experience! I look forward to continuing to have Coach Nathan work with all our boys going forward.

Just had my first session with Nathan. I felt that it was very productive, and he was there with . We went through things like weighted ball drill, staying balanced, and using my body weight to pitch. He gave great advice and understands the game of baseball very well. Very encouraging and highly recommend him. I plan to continue to train with him.

I've seen a remarkable improvement in Brayden's throwing delivery, accuracy and velocity since working with Coach Nathan. Sometimes I don't even have to see him throw, I can just hear the pop of the glove. The exercises being taught are getting him to better utilize his lower body (something I've been trying to get Brayden to do). Brayden really enjoys working with Coach Nathan. I know there's so much more that Brayden can learn working with Coach Nathan, so we look forward to working with him more in future.

I was very pleased with Coach Nathan and the session our son had. He learned a lot of skills and techniques that he will continue to use to help mold him into a great pitcher. I love that he has the parents be involved in every aspect of training. My son changed for the better so much in just one session. I highly recommend coach Nathan you will not be disappointed!
